First of all, what's 8 Ball Pool? 8 Ball Pool is a new app created by the world-famous company, Miniclip. It has some similarities with other popular games out there like bowling and billiards. Its gameplay involves the player shooting balls at a triangular rack of pool balls to attempt to land them in pockets or on any one of the white numbers that are on each side of the rack. This really cool app has been downloaded more than 2 billion times and it's available for both iOS and Android devices! There are a couple different playing modes for this version: Practice Mode, Quick Game Mode, Classic League Mode, Boss Battles Mode. There are also a couple different game modes within the Practice Mode. The two most popular are, in increasing order of popularity, Challenge Mode and Endless Mode. The Challenge Mode is an increased difficulty level in which you get one more chance to pocket a ball than usual. Each attempt will result in giving you more points than usual and possibly even earning some new balls for the rack. Endless Mode is pretty self-explanatory: it's just straight balls, simple as that. You get one shot at each box and you cannot miss any of them for the whole time-period your play lasts (which can be anywhere from quick to extended). There are 3 different rides: Driving, Power and Sports car. Each of these cars has a different amount of power and speed. The different characters each have their own ability that is expressed as a power-up during gameplay. Each character has his or her own style of play as well, though it's really just aesthetic differences. One of the most popular 8 Ball Pool games – and the only one we'll be talking about – is "The Cheat", which we'll refer to by its more common name: Auto-Aim (AA) (It's also one of my favorite hacks). Auto-Aim is a tool that automatically aims the cue ball to one of three shots: far left, far right, center; whatever you want it to do. For a while, this was sort of a black box hack, meaning that it just showed up when the player opened the app. In fact, you might not even have known it was there at all. However, that changed when a few players discovered that when you turned off your phone's "Auto-Lock" feature in Settings>Auto-Lock, AA would still work. So a lot of people started using this tool and although many games would turn out in a way so they weren't really balanced around it anymore without higher level playing, there were still some hot games going on around it. But the players, they want something more. They want a way to beat their opponents in an even less fair way than the use of AA would allow, and that's when modding (modifying) 8 Ball Pool came in.
